As a child, I was drawn to numbers. My grandma was an accountant, and I spent hours at her desk sorting papers, sketching on notepads, and playing with her calculator. I always knew I’d work with finances someday — just like her.
Then I became pregnant at 19, I needed a new career path and fast.
My mom was a cosmetologist, so I stepped into that world first. I eventually opened my own salon, but I always knew entrepreneurship was a stepping stone — not the finish line.
Even then, what I loved most wasn’t the styling.
It was the strategy. The numbers. The challenge of running a profitable business.
When COVID hit and salons closed nationwide, I saw an opportunity to pivot. I returned to what always lit me up: financial management.
That’s when I launched MyVBK — a firm designed to help service-based business owners take control of their finances and build stronger, more sustainable companies.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of supporting entrepreneurs across the country, helping them find clarity in their numbers and confidence in their decisions.
